Applying to Clemson University


To be eligible for the double degree program with Clemson University you need to be enrolled in the Univeristy of Bordeaux I. To make sure you satisfy both Bordeaux I and Clemson requirements please contact first your advisor and Prof. Bruno Bousquet or Kathleen Richardson.

Application Procedure to Clemson University's Graduate School

In order to be admitted to Clemson University, students are required to apply as a degree seeking student and must meet both the requirements for international students entering the Graduate School at Clemson University, and the requirements for the School of Materials Science and Engineering.

  1. Submit the online application for admission (you will need to Create your Account. You will also be able to manage it and check you application status there.)
  2. Fill out and mail the GSSMC Form with:
    • Your official transcripts (relevĂ© de notes in French), including the grades from your bachelors degree or diploma coursework. Those official transcripts will need to be send directly by the University to World Education Services ( which, once translated, will send them to Clemson Graduate School.
    • The GSL Form (or the Recommendation Letters) - only if they aren't submitted online)
    • The Tests Scores for the TOEFL and the GRE (Code 5111).
    • The Personal Statements
  3. The IS-50 Form (formally called IA-50) (needs to be submitted for those who do not receive an offer for stipend)
  4. The immunization Form and the Translation of your Medical Records are mandatory in order to waive Clemson Coverage and must contain the
    • The Immunization History
    • The Proof of coverage under your insurance form

  6. The International Interdisciplinary Master Student Agremement
